“Transitioning out of the military after 20 years has been one of the most exciting and stressful experiences that I have been through. While I could have chosen a slightly easier path continuing a career in aviation maintenance, I made the decision to explore Information Technology (IT) which was another interest of mine. To achieve my goal of learning these new skills, I chose The Forge Institute as my skillbridge provider during my transition into the civilian sector.

The Forge Institute’s assistance throughout the process has been invaluable. Leveraging their resources and local partnerships, I was able to network with other transitioning members and be placed with Acxiom as an intern. At Acxiom I have been able to advance my knowledge and skills as an IT professional working in the Audit Readiness division. Each day I get to work with multiple different subject matter experts to review evidence that is provided for their respective systems in the organization.
