Forge Institute provides Data Science for Executives course for military leaders

Little Rock, AR, July 12, 2021 – Forge Institute provided a one-day training seminar, “Data Science for Executives,” to senior leaders at the National Guard Bureau’s Professional Education Center (PEC), located on Camp Robinson in  North Little Rock, Arkansas.

“Our team spent the day with some incredible leaders in our nation’s military,” said Lee Watson, CEO and Founder of Forge Institute. “We worked through introductory discussions to see how data science could be leveraged to support the PEC’s training mission, as well as the unique mission of the National Guard.”

The course is designed to equip senior executives (non-technical leaders and managers) with the knowledge needed to understand the evolving data science/analytics environment. The curriculum proved perfect for PEC, which administers six specialized training centers to provide career development for the professionals in our country’s national guard. The PEC trains over 20,000 guard leaders per year.

“The data science training provided by Forge Institute is key to developing our leaders and senior instructors on the use and implications of data science,” stated Col. Leland Blanchard, commander of the PEC. “In our opinion, this training is essential to maintaining a 21st Century national defense and ensuring the readiness of the National Guard.”

The training included trends in Artificial Intelligence (AI), disruptive technologies like “deep fakes” and bleeding edge technologies. Those who complete the course better understand how to use data science and analytics to inform their decisions and strategies, improve mission execution, and be more informed and effective leaders.

Forge Institute offers a number of training courses and bootcamps designed to empower the nation’s workforce with advanced information technology skills. A schedule of upcoming training sessions for both cybersecurity and data science can be found at www.forge.institute/training.
