Retired CIA Senior Intelligence Service Officer Terry Burruss Joins the Forge Institute Advisory Board
Forge Institute added more senior-level expertise today by announcing the addition of former CIA Senior Intelligence Services (SIS) officer Terry Burruss to its Advisory Board.
“Terry built the CIA’s first combined mission unit focused on understanding and countering the foreign cyber threat,” said Lee Watson, Chairman, and CEO of Forge Institute. “We’re fortunate to have his experience and insight on what is already a deep advisory board.”
Throughout most of his intelligence career, Burruss focused largely on challenging national security technical issues and emerging threats with a heavy focus on assessing technological risks and leveraging innovation to address them. As the Deputy Chief of the Directorate of Digital Innovation’s Center for Cyber Intelligence, he and his team were responsible for intelligence collection, analysis, and operations focused on foreign cyber threats to US interests. The position required regular interaction with the DCIA, White House, Congress, and senior DOD, FBI, DHS and Foreign officials.
Burruss joins a Forge Institute advisory board comprised of private-sector, FBI, CIA and U.S. military officials steeped in cyber-defense tactics. Forge Institute recently announced the addition of retired Major General Joe Wilson to its ranks.
“Our advisory board is as experienced and credentialed as any like it in the nation,” said Watson. “They make for a considerable first-line of defense against the cyberattacks threatening our nation’s commerce and security.”
Arkansas is fast becoming a rally point for the nation’s cybersecurity efforts. Forge Institute provides essential cyber-training for individuals, corporations, and government entities.
