Forge Institute Granted Authorization by the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense to Become a DoD SkillBridge Provider

Forge Institute announced today that it is authorized as an official SillBridge provider. The qualification authorizes Forge Institute by the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense to work with each of the military service branches and respective installation commanders to develop SkillBridge training programs for their personnel

“We’re deeply honored to be affiliated with SkillBridge,” said Scott Anderson, Executive Director of the Forge Institute. “As a veteran myself, it’s a privilege to assist fellow service members’ transition to civilian employment. The SkillBridge program allows us to provide access to unique learning experiences to approved service members transitioning from any unit at any installation anywhere in the world.”

The SkillBridge program offers service members the opportunity to gain valuable civilian work experience through specific industry training, apprenticeships, or internships during the last 180 days of service. Leveraging the SkillBridge program, Forge Institute will help connect service members with valuable experience and access to our industry partners.

As a SkillBridge industry partner, Forge Institute provides information security (InfoSec), cyber, and IT training courses that open doors to high-pay, high-reward careers. The technical, real-world training offers former military members the opportunity to better transition to civilian employment while continuing to defend the Nation.

“U.S. Veterans are always looking for ways to serve their country,” said Anderson. “Through SkillBridge, we’re able to reach more veterans and provide these truly dedicated professionals with the skills needed to move on to the next mission.”

Roughly 200,000 personnel exit the military each year. SkillBridge can help those service members bridge the gap between the end of service and the beginning of their civilian careers. In addition to internships in information security, cyber, and IT as provided by Forge Institute, SkillBridge connects transitioning service members to fields such as energy, manufacturing, financial services, retail, transportation, civil service and more. These industry partners have developed SkillBridge programs for separating service members because they value your expertise, dedication and service.
