Scott A. Anderson selected to serve on the Cybersecurity Apprenticeship Sub-Working Group of the National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education

LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas, July 31, 2020. Today the American Cyber Alliance (ACA) powered by Forge Institute, announced that Scott Anderson, Executive Director, has joined the Sub Working Group for Cybersecurity Apprenticeships of the National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education (NICE) within the United States Department of Commerce. He will bring his decades-long experience in cybersecurity education and professional development to assist in addressing the Nation’s dire need for skilled cybersecurity professionals.

“It’s great to collaborate with like-minded professionals, who bring unique knowledge and experience to the table. Participants in our training courses, build upon their existing IT knowledge and learn to operationalize their skills through immersion into complex offensive and defensive simulated exercises. Our instructors and partners are looking forward to the revised NICE framework that’s being released later this year.” - Scott A. Anderson, Executive Director, American Cyber Alliance

The ACA Cyber Training Bootcamp has built flexibility into the curriculum to align with both public and private sector partner needs and has mapped the educational requirements to the NICE framework. The American Cyber Alliance graduated our most recent cohort this past May and the next cohort is scheduled to begin this Fall. Participants gain valuable hands-on experience in topical areas, such as: Threat Hunting, Cyber Threat Intelligence, Incident Response, Log Review, Forensics, Pen Testing, and many more.

“Our partnership with Bill Yoder and the team at the Arkansas Center for Data Sciences (ADCS) has proven to be a highly successful collaboration and has better equipped our partners to participate in a US Dept. of Labor Registered Apprenticeship program. The combination of ACA’s Cybersecurity Training along with the ACDS Apprenticeship support - has created an unparalleled opportunity to address the cybersecurity workforce demands of employers in Arkansas and beyond,” according to Lee Watson, Chief Executive Officer of Forge Institute.
