Operationalizing Cybersecurity, It’s Everyone’s Job

SCOTT ANDERSON

Cyber risk and cybersecurity are huge topics of interest for everyone these days.  It can be challenging for executives, managers, professionals, parents, and everyone!  Who has the time to mitigate all the issues with cyber, from protecting their data or personal information or from sophisticated phishing schemes, ransomware, state-sponsored hacking? Cyber issues are not purely a technology problem—they are everyone's responsibility and must be addressed via a multi-vector approach. There is a need for all of us, to think about cyber in all aspects of your life:  family, work, church, social life, hobbies, learning; in this technology-driven world, we all need a holistic approach to being secure.

Things you can do:

  • Learn general cybersecurity awareness

  • Think about the role we all take in cybersecurity

  • Get some actionable items to be more cyber resilient

  • Learn how to measure your cyber-risk level—and do better over time

In today’s environment of increased cybercrime, mitigating cyber risk is not someone else's responsibility alone—it is everyone’s job. Getting ahead of hackers and other cyber risks require the continuous engagement of everyone, as well as a commitment to build a cybersecurity mindset in all aspects of your life.
