Position Description:
The Managing Director - Cyber Programs will play a critical role in leading and overseeing the strategic direction and operational execution of the Innovation Programs, Emerging Threat Center, and Arkansas Cyber Defense Center at Forge Institute. This leadership role is designed for a visionary who is adept at integrating state-of-the-art cybersecurity practices, fostering innovation, and navigating the complexities of cyber threats. Reporting directly to the Chief Innovation Officer and the CEO, the Managing Director will ensure that Forge Institute's cyber programs are at the cutting edge of technology and security.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement comprehensive strategic plans for the Innovation Programs, Emerging Threat Center, and Arkansas Cyber Defense Center, ensuring alignment with Forge Institute's overall vision and goals.
Lead and manage diverse teams across multiple divisions, fostering an environment that promotes innovation, collaboration, and exceptional performance.
Maintain expertise on emerging cyber threats and technologies to ensure Forge Institute's programs are proactive and adaptive to the dynamic cybersecurity landscape.
Establish and nurture partnerships with industry, government, and academic institutions to expand Forge Institute's capabilities and influence in cyber defense and innovation.
Spearhead the development and deployment of innovative cyber defense tools and technologies.
Direct the creation and execution of cybersecurity training and awareness programs to enhance resilience against cyber threats.
Manage budgets, resources, and project timelines across all divisions, ensuring operations are both efficient and impactful.
Act as a prominent representative of Forge Institute at key industry events, conferences, and forums, elevating our leadership position in the cybersecurity domain.
Develop and oversee a robust mentorship program, including recruiting industry experts and aligning them with startups and entrepreneurs.
Coordinate the development and implementation of a 12-week pre-accelerator curriculum, ensuring it is comprehensive, up-to-date, and tailored to the needs of participants.
Foster relationships with industry leaders, potential sponsors, and partners to enhance program resources and opportunities.
Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of professionals working on various aspects of the program.
Track program performance, providing regular reports to stakeholders and making data-driven recommendations for improvements.
Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and policy developments in the energy sector to ensure the program remains relevant and impactful.
This position may involve some travel within the State of Arkansas, and occasionally could involve travel outside the State of Arkansas. Furthermore, you must adhere to internal security policies and requirements.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
A minimum of 10 years of experience in the cybersecurity field, with at least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing cross-functional teams and programs.
Demonstrated expertise in cybersecurity strategies, emerging technologies, and understanding of the threat landscape.
Exceptional leadership abilities with a proven capacity to inspire and guide teams towards achieving excellence.
Outstanding communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging and collaborating with stakeholders across various levels.
A track record of developing and implementing strategic plans that deliver measurable success.
Experience in forging partnerships and collaborations with external entities.
Strategic, analytical, and creative thinking skills for complex problem-solving.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; advanced degree preferred.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in entrepreneurship, business development, or a leadership role within the energy sector.
Demonstrated success in starting, growing, and mentoring businesses, with a strong understanding of the startup ecosystem.
Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational and project management abilities.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Passion for innovation, sustainability, and the energy sector.
Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
