Through the DoD SkillBridge program, Forge Institute equips service members like myself with the necessary skills and knowledge to transition into the IT and Cybersecurity industry. Recognizing the value of my military experience in leadership and program management, the Fellowship program allowed me to leverage these skills in a civilian setting.

During the fellowship, I had the opportunity to enroll in Forge Academy's IT/Cyber Fundamentals Course. This comprehensive training provided me with essential knowledge and hands-on experience in IT and Cybersecurity, covering a wide range of topics from network security to digital forensics. Equipped with these tools, I was prepared to excel in my new career path.

The unwavering support, training, and knowledge I gained through both the Fellowship program and Forge Academy played a pivotal role in securing my full-time position as a Lead Forensic Technologist. It was an incredible opportunity to bridge the gap between my military service and my new career path.

Sam White

Sam White, from Jacksonville, Florida transitioned from a 20 year career in the Navy where he served as an in-flight technician onboard the P-3C Orion anti-submarine aircraft. Onboard the aircraft he fixed the electronic and computer systems while flying, launched sonobuoys, and operated various sensors in a multi-mission environment. Additionally, he was the Navy and Marine Corps’ only enlisted Transport Aircrewman Naval Air Training and Standardization Evaluator for the UC-12 Huron aircraft. He also served as the Defense Travel Administrator for a command of over 200 personnel.

While a Forge Fellow, Sam used the Navy COOL program, he earned CompTIA A+, Network+, and Security+, and worked extensively with the Emerging Threat Center. He accepted a position at Northrop Grumman following his fellowship at Forge Institute.
